Hello, welcome to our farms in Hiwassee.  We are located in the mountains of South Western Virginia, on a 150 acre farm and have found a special joy in working to save the breeds of Tennessee Fainting Goats and Karakachan livestock guardian dogs.

Syncope Falls Farm
Syncope Falls and Smiley Farms have never had a case of Johnes, CAE, or Caseous Lymphnitous (CL) in any of our goats.  But due to several inquiries by farms interested in our stock, we are having these tests performed on our herd to ensure buyers of the health of our Fainters.  On December 2008, we tested all of our herd over the age of 11 months - and all test results were negative.  We've had followup testing performed on July 28, 2009, May 5, 2010, June 5, 2012, July 5, 2014, July 12, 2016.  All results continue to be negative.

With our focus on herd health, we only purchase goats from farms that have also tested for Johnes, CAE or CL.  Once we bring them to the farm, they are quarantined for two months and retested again.  Our goal is to continue to raise healthy, happy goats!
